The restoration process
A digital scan of the original photograph, negative or slide is taken. Sometimes it is necessary to take a photograph of the original using studio lighting, if original photograph is too large, is not flat or is too fragile to be scanned. Restoration work is done on the digital image, the original is not altered.
When restoring a photograph my aim is to bring back the maximum lost detail. After restoration your unaltered original is returned to you along with print of restored photograph. I can also provide you with a digital copy of your restored photograph to share with your whole family.
